Taboun Carpets and Furnishings

Founded in 2008 in the Old City of Tripoli by the late businessman and trader, Hussein Mohamed Taboun (may he rest in peace), who managed the business until his passing in 2018. He laid the foundation for its establishment, evolving it from a mobile display of carpets, known as Uncle Taboun’s Carpets, into a primary shop specializing in the retail sale of carpets and rugs, adhering to traditional cash-based trading policies.

After his passing in 2018, his only son, Mohamed Hussein Taboun, succeeded him, bringing a remarkable transformation to the company through modern trading strategies.

He introduced a new approach to selling furnishings through online marketing and added home delivery services, aligning the business with advancements in technology and modern trends.

2025

  • The main showroom in Al-Mashtel is being prepared to be opened as the largest carpet showroom in Libya.

  • The launch of Taboun Carpets’ online branch, where customers can place orders from the comfort of their homes as if they were in the store itself.

2024

  • Taboun’s third showroom was opened in HT Mall, featuring a wide array of luxurious offers and exceptional collections.

  • The online branch of Taboun was prepared, offering a unique experience by bringing all the company’s products to the fingertips of users.

2023

  • The main Al-Mashtel branch was expanded with the opening of an adjacent showroom named “Carpets and Rugs,” showcasing Iranian carpets and luxurious rugs at the beginning of 2023.

  • The Ghot Al-Shaal branch was expanded to include a variety of modern rugs in mid-2023, specifically on the 20th of Ramadan.

2022

  • At the beginning of 2022, the company successfully opened its first branch in Ghot Al-Shaal, driven by customer demand and trust in the Taboun brand.

  • On September 10, 2022, the largest sales season in Libya was launched under the name “Taboun Brought Back the Old Prices.”

2020

  • In 2019, the first massive showroom in Libya was opened in Ain Zara, Al-Mashtel Road. The company was also authorized to distribute the renowned Bani Walid carpets directly from the factory. The showroom featured a comprehensive collection of carpets, including the world-famous Iranian carpets, as well as authentic Turkish carpets made of wool, silk, or cotton, all adhering to global carpet standards.

Taboun is a company specialized in marketing all types of carpets, rugs, parquet flooring, artificial grass, and furnishings. It is an authorized agent for several local and international manufacturers in this field.
